Help to Buy helps local family move to Hallow in Worcestershire

A local family has used Help-to-Buy to purchase a home at Hayfield Meadow, situated in the village they have always wanted to move to – Hallow in Worcestershire.

Katie, Tom and two-year-old Lily Rostrup were living in Worcester in a two-bedroom Victorian terraced property before moving to a large three-bedroom detached Warmington home at Hayfield Meadow. The spacious and leafy development by award-winning developer Hayfield features 39 family homes and bungalows, together with a wildflower meadow, adventure play area and family kick-about zone.

Katie Rostrup said: “I’d never thought about living in a new home because I’ve seen developments where the homes are crammed together and the garden sizes are very small. Hayfield Meadow totally changed my mind because of the stunning surroundings and the fact Hayfield has not only spaced out the homes, but also created such well-sized gardens.

“We used the government’s Help to Buy scheme to assist with the cost of buying our new home. Our friends had used Help to Buy to purchase a new home, so it was something we were already aware of. When we looked at the numbers, it became clear that we could afford a larger home at Hayfield Meadow by taking up the option of using the scheme. Our Warmington home is a significant upgrade on our previous two-bedroom home, giving us a lot more living space, an extra double bedroom and a fabulous dressing area and en-suite off the master bedroom.

“We are so thrilled to be living in such a high quality home within the village that we’ve always wanted to live in. Hallow Park is perfect for our young daughter to play and explore, while the major reason for moving here was to be within the immediate catchment area for Hallow C of E Primary and Pre-School.”

There is now only one home remaining at Hayfield Meadow, as the properties have been selling well ahead of the build programme. The last home is of the popular Hallow design, which was recently Highly Commended at the Evening Standard New Homes Awards.
