Hayfield bolsters head office team with Finance Manager appointment

Award-winning housebuilder, Hayfield, has appointed Rachel Knight as Finance Manager. Rachel will be responsible for preparing the Solihull-headquartered developer’s monthly management accounts, providing management KPI reports and a full analysis of revenue, profit and overhead spend.

Founded in 2016, Hayfield specialises in luxury family houses and has six live sites located in prime locations in Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Bedfordshire. It is part-funded via investment from global investors and a recent cash injection has enabled Hayfield to acquire a significant land bank.

43-year-old Mrs Knight has joined Hayfield from being the Finance Manager for Warwickshire-based Intex Projects, which specialises in commercial fit-out and refurbishment. Prior to that, she spent 12 years at SME firm Reef One Ltd as Group Accountant. Rachel studied at the University of Exeter and qualified as a Chartered Accountant while at ‘Big Four’ firm PwC.

Rachel Knight, Finance Manager for Hayfield commented: “I am excited to be working in a fast-growing company and hope to bring my previous knowledge of construction and rapidly growing SMEs to strengthen Hayfield’s finance department.

“As a well-funded relative newcomer to the marketplace, Hayfield is launching a number of luxury residential developments each year, which requires complex financial structures and internal discipline to manage all aspects of the house building and selling process.”

Approximately 170 executive homes will be delivered by Hayfield over the next 12 months. The company was recognised at the 2018 WhatHouse? Awards as one of the UK’s Best Small Housebuilders and won the prize for Best Family Home under £750,000 at the 2019 Evening Standard New Homes Awards. It has also scooped three NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.

Dan Hurst, Chief Finance Officer for Hayfield, said: “This is a really exciting time for Hayfield, but any period of rapid expansion requires a bolstering of our head office team. Recruiting Rachel as a senior level appointment is a fantastic asset and her knowledge of the industry will enable her to hit the ground running.”
