A young married couple have relocated from North West London to the Bedfordshire village of Silsoe, making their first step onto the property ladder with a luxury three-bedroom former show home at Hayfield Place. The first-time buyers used the Government’s Help to Buy initiative to assist with affordability.
29-year-old Victoria Garratt is a Lettings Manager for Foxtons Estate Agents, while husband Jonathon – age 30 – is a Senior Brand Designer for Avanti West Coast Rail. They chose Hayfield’s Hatton home design, which features three double-bedrooms, luxury bathrooms, a spacious kitchen/diner and an integral garage.
Victoria Garratt said: “We both grew up in the countryside and wanted to buy a home in a rural village location with a good local pub, where we could go on scenic walks and runs right from our front door. We had a large search area because my husband works in Kings Cross and I work just off the M1 – in many ways the choice of location was too great. Some good friends were also looking to move out of London and bought a house in Silsoe. They recommended we look at Hayfield Place and the rest is history! We fell in love with the three-bedroom Hatton show home on our first visit.
“What really captivated us about this development is how spacious it is, the exceptional quality and character within each home and the generous gardens. While we were originally looking at second-hand homes as well as new, we realised neither of us had the time to take on a refurbishment project. We are so happy to have moved into our own slice of the Bedfordshire countryside and have the grandeur of the English Heritage Wrest Park Estate on our doorstep.”
The 14-acre Hayfield Place scheme is located off Silsoe High Street, which offers an array of local amenities, recreational facilities and schooling. Featuring 105 exceptional two, three, four and five-bedroom bungalows and executive family homes, the prices for the current release range from £475,000 to £749,000. There are still homes available that qualify for both the Stamp Duty holiday and the Government’s current Help to Buy scheme – both of which will come to an end in March 2021.
Hayfield Place has been designed to reflect architectural styles from the sought-after historic village, weaving in local materials and detailing. The new homes are being constructed in red and buff brick and render with a luxurious specification that is unmatched in the area. Specification features vary dependent on the house design, including underfloor heating, designer Laufen bathrooms, Minoli ceramic tiles, Hammonds fitted wardrobes, Farrow & Ball paint, heritage bronze door furniture and bi-fold doors. The bespoke kitchens designed by Manor Interiors include a range of integrated Bosch appliances, such as multifunctional ovens, an induction hob, dishwasher and an instant hot tap.
Hayfield’s homes are significantly bigger than the average new home, creating spacious room dimensions. The variety of 14 home designs at Hayfield Place enables purchasers to choose from modern open-plan layouts or more traditional designs. New public footpaths, a balancing pond, a biodiversity corridor that will run across the site, and a new section of bridleway and cycle route are all being created to connect Hayfield Place into the local Bedfordshire footpath network.
The nearby towns of Milton Keynes, Luton and Bedford offer a wealth of shopping, restaurants, entertainment and sporting facilities. Luton airport is 12 miles away, and Flitwick Railway Station is four miles away, making it an ideal location for those wishing to travel for pleasure or commute.
Hayfield is an HBF five-star builder. At the 2019 WhatHouse? Awards, held late last year, Hayfield was crowned Best Small Housebuilder. It won the same accolade at the 2019 Housebuilder Awards, and also scooped the prize for Best Customer Satisfaction Initiative. The company has also won three Pride in the Job NHBC Awards and the prize for Best Family Home under £750,000 at the 2019 Evening Standard New Homes Awards.
The development is located at High Street, Silsoe, Bedfordshire, MK45 4ES. It is open seven days a week from 10am – 5pm. More information on Hayfield Place is available here: https://www.hayfieldhomes.co.uk/hayfield-place-silsoe
