Hayfield has recruited four experienced finance specialists to be based at its Solihull head office, as the five-star housebuilding company looks to double annual turnover to £100m this year.
Amanda James has joined the team as a Management Accountant, Bonnie Cooke has been recruited as an Accounts Supervisor, Lauren Williams has been recruited as an Accounts Payable Assistant, and Hayley McGorie has joined in the role of Accounts Assistant.
Jim Thompson, Finance Director for Hayfield said: “We are really pleased to have strengthened Hayfield’s finance department with the range and depth of experience that Amanda, Bonnie, Lauren and Hayley bring to the team. Seeking to double the turnover of any company over a 12-month timeframe is a huge undertaking and the housebuilding industry has many additional complexities, such as multiple funding lines, grants and legal obligations. Having the additional in-house resource to meet the needs of the business at this critical period will support the work carried out by everyone based in Hayfield’s offices and out on site.”
Amanda James has joined from the Funeral Care division of Midcounties Cooperative, where she was responsible for the production of all financial reporting, including day to day operational support and monthly management accounts. Amanda also supported the division with annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and strategic planning. She has previously held positions as the Finance Manager for Leamington Spa-based TNS Catering, and as an Accounts Payable Manager for Warwick-based ABM Catering Ltd. Amanda is in the final stages of becoming an ACCA qualified Certified Chartered Accountant.
Bonnie Cook and Lauren Williams have both joined Hayfield from the finance department of Birmingham Business Park-based facilities management specialist Imtech Inviron Ltd. Previously, Bonnie spent seven years working as an Accounts Manager for CloserStill Media, which is a global exhibitions company. Lauren Williams’ previous positions were as a Finance Assistant for law firm Aaron & Partners LLP and a Finance Administrator for Spectrum Payment Services Ltd.
Prior to joining Hayfield, Hayley McGorie had previously worked as a Finance Assistant for Solihull-based Wattrus Group Ltd, which specialises in building installations, soft furnishings and flooring. Previous employments were at Cudd Bentley Consulting and I.T. specialist Infrasys Ltd – both firms are based in Solihull. Hayley has recently commenced a Level 3 Diploma with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
Amanda James, Management Accountant for Hayfield said: “I am thrilled to be working in-house for a SME firm that is growing at such a formidable pace. Working at Hayfield gives me the opportunity to interact with each of the various divisions of the business and build up a thorough understanding of the full delivery process from a financial resource and budgeting perspective. With the four of us joining the team at a very similar time, we hope to make a substantial impact to the smooth running of the finance function.”
Solihull-headquartered Hayfield has live sites in Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Wiltshire and Buckinghamshire, where eco-friendly executive family homes are being constructed in prime semi-rural and edge of town settings.
Hayfield’s growth has been fuelled by £85m of equity and debt funding, which has enabled the five-year old housebuilder to acquire a significant land bank. A £50m senior debt site acquisition facility, together with rolling development funding, is provided by OakNorth Bank plc. In addition, a prominent Dubai-based family office private investor – with over 30 years’ property development experience in the UK and internationally – has provided a £35m rolling equity facility.
Hayfield won Gold and Bronze accolades at the 2020 WhatHouse? Awards and has also received three Pride in the Job NHBC Awards.
