Hayfield Expands Construction Team with Director-level Appointment

February 15, 2022

Hayfield has appointed Liam Gilbert as Area Production Director to oversee construction at the multi award-winning housebuilder’s upcoming developments. The expansion of the construction team is in line with Hayfield seeking to deliver a turnover of £150m during the current financial year.

Liam Gilbert joins from Redrow Homes Thames Valley, where he was a Construction Director, with overall responsibility for the set-up of all new sites, recruitment of staff, and dealing with building complexities. Prior to that, he was a Contracts Manager for Barratt Developments PLC, where he was responsible for production teams delivering across four sites. Liam also assisted in the design of the Barratt Degree Programme, in conjunction with Sheffield Hallam University.

Ken Mulpeter, Production Director for Hayfield said: “As we continue to grow at a rapid pace and make preparations for new site starts, investing in the strength and depth of our construction team is critically important. I am thrilled to welcome Liam Gilbert to Hayfield, as his technical and interpersonal skills are renowned. He will be able to steer our site-based teams and wider supply chain to deliver the exceptional quality we have built our reputation on.”

Mr Gilbert is skilled at operations, programme, contract and staff management, as well as sub-contractor sourcing, and health and safety. In his spare time, he plays ruby for Chinnor RFC, who compete in National League One.

Liam Gilbert, Area Production Director for Hayfield said: “I am very excited to join the team at Hayfield and get the preparations underway for a handful of new site starts over the coming months. Upcoming developments such as Hayfield Crescent in the sought-after Buckinghamshire village of Little Kimble will see executive homes installed with Air Source Heat Pumps and EV charging points. Hayfield’s eco focus, impressive growth, and being crowned WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year, are just some of the reasons why I was keen to progress my career here.”

Solihull-headquartered Hayfield is proactively installing Air Source Heat Pumps, underfloor heating, electric vehicle fast-charging points, and ultra-fast broadband into all new and upcoming developments, in line with its strong ESG foundations. These features – alongside its current build specification – ensures all new Hayfield homes have a 62% reduction in CO2 over current Building Regulations.

The expansion of the construction team is in line with Hayfield seeking to deliver 350 homes during 2022. The company is gearing up to deliver 500 homes annually, supported by a portfolio of sites to enable visible production into the future.
