Hayfield helps a key worker to move to the historic Bedfordshire village of Silsoe

December 9, 2020

An Assistant Headteacher and an Aerospace Engineer have upgraded to a spacious three-bedroom detached home at Hayfield Place in the historic Bedfordshire village of Silsoe. The couple used the Government’s Help to Buy initiative to assist with affordability, while the agents’ fees to sell their house were paid by Hayfield, working in partnership with haart.

Nicola Kelly age 35 and Joshua Myall age 32 moved from a starter home in the neighbouring village of Pulloxhill to a Langley at Hayfield Place, which is the multi award-winning housebuilder’s largest three-bedroom home type. The couple benefitted from Hayfield’s exclusive Key Worker Discount Scheme which knocks £5,000 off the purchase price of any home in the development portfolio for all those who match the Government’s criteria.

Nicola Kelly said: “We were keen to use the Help to Buy scheme to move to Silsoe – our favourite village – and upgrade to a much bigger home before the scheme rules change in March, but that meant that we didn’t qualify for Hayfield’s Part-Exchange programme. We were delighted when they offered to pay haart Estate Agents to market our home for us, and as a result the whole moving process has gone through really smoothly.

“Hayfield really added the personal touch all the way through our moving process. When things felt stressful, they took the time to personally reassure us and were genuinely really caring. We were due to get married this year, but had to postpone our plans because of the Covid-19 restrictions. The team were very sensitive to what an emotional time it was for us and the twists and turns that the pandemic was throwing our way. They lifted our spirits on several occasions and we knew our house move was in safe hands.

“We initially contacted Hayfield during the spring national lockdown and being able to move into such a luxurious home has been the highlight of this strange year. We love everything about Silsoe and Hayfield Place simply ticked all the boxes for us. The homes are much bigger than all the other developments we’ve seen and there is so much landscaped open space. We shopped around and nothing came close to the quality and value for money.”

The Langley features a main bedroom with an ensuite and dressing room, two other double bedrooms, a luxury family bathroom, a large sitting room, downstairs toilet, and a spacious ‘L’ shape kitchen/diner/family room, with an additional garden room to flood light throughout the living space. The Langley home also benefits from a garage.

The 14-acre Hayfield Place scheme is located off Silsoe High Street, which offers an array of local amenities, recreational facilities and schooling. Featuring 105 exceptional two, three, four and five-bedroom bungalows and executive family homes, the prices for the current release range from £475,000 to £749,000. There are still homes available which qualify for the Stamp Duty holiday, which will come to an end in March 2021.

Hayfield Place has been designed to reflect architectural styles from the sought-after historic village, weaving in local materials and detailing. The new homes are being constructed in red and buff brick and render with a luxurious specification that is unmatched in the area. Specification features vary dependent on the house design, including underfloor heating, designer Laufen bathrooms, Minoli ceramic tiles, Hammonds fitted wardrobes, Farrow & Ball paint, heritage bronze door furniture and bi-fold doors. The bespoke kitchens designed by Manor Interiors include a range of integrated Bosch appliances, such as multifunctional ovens, an induction hob, dishwasher and an instant hot tap.

Hayfield’s homes are significantly bigger than the average new home, creating spacious room dimensions. The variety of 14 home designs at Hayfield Place enables purchasers to choose from modern open-plan layouts or more traditional designs. New public footpaths, a balancing pond, a biodiversity corridor that will run across the site, and a new section of bridleway and cycle route are all being created to connect Hayfield Place into the local Bedfordshire footpath network.

The nearby towns of Milton Keynes, Luton and Bedford offer a wealth of shopping, restaurants, entertainment and sporting facilities. Luton airport is 12 miles away, and Flitwick Railway Station is four miles away, making it an ideal location for those wishing to travel for pleasure or commute.

Hayfield is an HBF five-star builder. The company has recently won Gold and Bronze accolades at the 2020 WhatHouse? Awards and has also received three Pride in the Job NHBC Awards.

The development is located at High Street, Silsoe, Bedfordshire, MK45 4ES. It is open seven days a week from 10am – 5pm. More information on Hayfield Place is available here: https://www.hayfieldhomes.co.uk/development/hayfield-place
