Hayfield appoints a Regional Sales Director as it prepares to launch new developments

September 21, 2020

Hayfield – the UK’s Best Small Housebuilder – has appointed Shelley West as its Regional Sales Director. Shelley will be responsible for the 20-strong team of Sales Advisors and Managers working on site at Hayfield’s developments in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Wiltshire.

Hayfield specialises in constructing luxury family houses. It has eight live sites - delivering a total of 554 new homes - located in prime edge of town, semi-rural and rural locations. The company is part-funded via investment from global investors and a £85m cash injection has recently enabled Hayfield to acquire a significant land bank.

Mrs West has been in the industry for 25 years and has worked as a high-functioning Sales Director at other housebuilding firms since 2007. She has previously held the position of Sales Director at Shanly Homes, Clearview Homes, Linden Homes, Heronslea Group and Banner Homes (Central) Ltd, which was acquired by CALA Homes (Chiltern) Ltd.

Her key responsibilities at Hayfield include setting and adhering to sales and pricing strategies, show home launches and overall site presentation, and recruitment, training and motivating the sales team. The creation of the Regional Sales Director role has enabled Hayfield’s Sales and Marketing Director – Kelly Sharman – to dedicate more time to working with the land acquisition department, the board, funders and investors.

Mark Booth, Managing Director of Hayfield, said: “Despite the unprecedented temporary closures and delays brought about by the Covid-19 lockdown earlier this year, Hayfield has recovered very well and the business is in the strongest position it’s even been in. Over the next few weeks, we will be unveiling a sales lounge and show home at our best-selling development, which is in Bedfordshire. This autumn, we will also be launching three new developments in counties that we haven’t had a presence in before. Bringing Shelley West on board is instrumental to our growth and sales strategy. Her knowledge of the market and her ability to drive sales will be a formidable asset to this fantastic company.”

Shelley West, Regional Sales Director for Hayfield commented: “I am delighted to be joining such a dynamically different housebuilding business that puts its customers first. The investment that has been made in the brand, image and outstanding specification is paying dividends because house hunters aren’t just looking at the standard metrics, they want to buy a Hayfield. The future for this business is very exciting and I am so pleased to be a part of it.”

At the 2019 WhatHouse? Awards, held late last year, Hayfield was crowned Best Small Housebuilder. It won the same accolade at the 2019 Housebuilder Awards, and also scooped the prize for Best Customer Satisfaction Initiative. The company has also won three Pride in the Job NHBC Awards and the prize for Best Family Home under £750,000 at the 2019 Evening Standard New Homes Awards. At the 2019 Insider West Midlands Property Awards, Hayfield won Residential Developer of the Year.

Hayfield’s live sites include the flagship Hayfields site in Southmoor, Oxfordshire, which comprises 74 luxury homes. Also under construction in Oxfordshire is Hayfield Green, where 66 luxury houses and bungalows are being developed on a 21-acre disused RAF WWII Airfield in this historic village of Stanton Harcourt. In the small market town of Southam in Warwickshire, the final phase of Hayfield Grange is selling ahead of the build programme. The popular development comprises 51 family houses and bungalows.

In Bedfordshire, Hayfield is under construction with 105 luxury homes close to English Heritage’s Grade I listed Wrest Park Estate, which is in the sought-after village of Silsoe. Seven miles away, in the traditional village of Clifton, the Hayfield Gate development is selling off-plan, comprising 95 luxury homes. New sites are currently in the early stages of construction in Great Gransden – Cambridgeshire, in Woburn Sands – Buckinghamshire, and in Blunsdon – Wiltshire.
