Hayfield has bolstered its commercial department with the appointment of Shane Kelly as Senior Quantity Surveyor and Gareth Evans as Quantity Surveyor. They will both be based at Hayfield’s Milton Keynes office to support the growing needs of the multi award-winning business.
Shane Kelly joins from Persimmon North London, where he was a Senior Quantity Surveyor. Prior to that, he held the same position at Barratt Homes North Thames, and at Taylor Wimpey North London. Earlier in his career, Mr Kelly worked for Lovell Homes London and South East, and PNT Contractors Ltd. Shane graduated from the University of Westminster with an RICS accredited BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management. His 15 years of experience in the industry spans a wide range of housing developments with values of up to £100m.
Gareth Evans joins Hayfield from Hill Group, where he was a Contracts Surveyor, working across a number of partnership schemes, which included a range of eco features. Prior to that, Mr Evans was a Quantity Surveyor for Mount Anvil, working across a range of high-value, low- and high-rise residential schemes in the Capital. He has eight years industry experience, having graduated from London Southbank University with an MSc in Quantity Surveying.
Wesley Keane, Commercial Director for Hayfield said: “We have a lot of prime sites progressing through the planning system, which we need to be in a position to start on site with as soon as possible. By appointing Shane – who I have worked with previously – and Gareth to the team, we will be able to manage the commercial aspects of many more sites simultaneously. Shane and Gareth possess a wealth of valuable industry experience, working with major housebuilders. They also bring fresh thinking and knowledge of innovations in the sector, which will stand us in great stead as Hayfield continues to decarbonise all new and upcoming developments. I look forward to working with them both.”
Shane and Gareth are both experienced in the commercial control of development projects, cash flow forecasts, preparation and issuing contractual documents, and risk assessments.
Shane Kelly, Senior Quantity Surveyor for Hayfield said: “Like many others in the industry, I took interest in Hayfield’s growth story when the company won Housebuilder of the Year Award at the WhatHouse? Awards late last year. The quality of every development really shines through and I was keen to join the team and be a part of the ongoing success. I am excited to get to work on Hayfield’s portfolio of picturesque semi-rural sites, and hope to make use of my experience of working on major developments.”
Hayfield has eight live sites in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and Wiltshire, where executive family homes are being constructed in prime semi-rural and edge of town settings. The expansion of the commercial department is in line with Hayfield seeking to deliver a turnover of £150m during 2022. The company is gearing up to deliver 500 homes annually, supported by a five-year landbank.
