Hayfield Launches Show Home for 60-home Sustainable Development

July 8, 2024

Hayfield, the multi-award-winning 5-star housebuilder, has launched a show home for its 60-home development, Hayfield Gardens, in the Bedfordshire village of Toddington.

Prospective residents can visit the four-bedroom Hallow show home – which includes sustainable technologies such as EV chargers, air source heat pumps and solar PV panels.

The £31 million scheme will be made up of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes, all of which will be zero-carbon ready and feature Hayfield’s premium eco-focussed specification. Hayfield is committed to being a sustainable developer, and its highly efficient EPC A-rated homes at Hayfield Gardens emit on average 0.1 tonnes of carbon each year, which is 89% less emissions than the average new build home.

Building on these sustainability credentials, all properties at Hayfield Gardens exceed the government’s Future Homes Standard, which is set to become mandatory in 2025. The Toddington homes will each feature solar PV panels, air source heat pumps, energy-efficient underfloor heating, EV fast-charging points, increased thermal insulation, 100% renewable energy and fibre optic broadband.

The scheme also has a 28% biodiversity net gain – a significant increase compared to the 10% UK requirement for developers – helping build a green community for people and nature to thrive. This includes increased biodiversity, Public Open Space, new habitats for wildlife, native tree planting, an attenuation pond with wetland wildflowers, as well as maintaining the majority of existing trees and hedgerows.  This means the development fits in perfectly with the village’s surrounding countryside, which includes the popular Toddington Lakes. Residents are also a stone’s throw from bustling towns, such as Milton Keynes, which are easily accessible by Toddington’s transport services.

Sarah Sargeant, Sales Director at Hayfield, said: “Our latest show home has been designed to give prospective residents a feel of what life would be like at Hayfield Gardens, demonstrating how customers can live a more sustainable lifestyle without having to compromise on luxury.  The interior design scheme showcases the perfect balance between relaxed and refined living, making the spaces feel warm and inviting through the use of layered neutral tones.

“All of our prospective customers have certainly felt the ‘wow factor’ and the launch was a resounding success with a flurry of reservations. We’re delighted with its popularity with customers and local residents alike and look forward to welcoming people in to experience the high-quality, sustainable homes at Hayfield Gardens.”

Each of the 60 homes has been designed with a carefully considered layout, to maximise space and light, reduce carbon emissions and maximise energy efficiency. All homes are fitted with premium specification fixtures, fittings and appliances, from bespoke fitted wardrobes to the integrated kitchen and additional sustainable technologies such as EV chargers and solar PV panels.

Hayfield Gardens’ show home is open daily from 10am – 5pm, with prices starting at £495,000.
