Hayfield Recruits a National Head of Human Resources

October 20, 2021

Hayfield has recruited Sara Hope as Head of Human Resources to strengthen its people development capacity and provide specialist in-house HR expertise, as the five-star housebuilder continues its rapid expansion. The Solihull-headquartered company now employs over 100 people and is gearing up to deliver 500 homes per annum across middle England.

Sara Hope was previously HR Manager at Creative Foods and has worked across a range of customer centric organisations in the UK and Australia. She has over 25 years HR experience bringing a depth and breadth of expertise, including managing change programmes to support business growth, large recruitment campaigns, promoting employee engagement, developing agile processes throughout the employee journey, and has a keen interest in employee wellbeing. She is a trained Mental Health First Aider.

Mark Booth, Co-founder of Hayfield, said: “Hayfield has expanded at a rapid pace this year and bringing a senior HR practitioner on board is a reflection of this. Our people are our first priority and we are very pleased that Sara has joined the team to provide specialist expertise as we continue to grow. There are currently two Hayfield offices and eight live development sites located across a wide area of middle England. Maintaining our culture, openness, and commitment to delivering exceptional quality new homes will require additional resources and strategy as we recruit more and more skilled people.”

Sara Hope, Head of Human Resources for Hayfield commented: “I am very excited to join Hayfield and be able to deliver a broad range of strategic and operational HR initiatives to such a dynamic and progressive business. Attracting, retaining and developing all Hayfield’s people, based on construction sites, and in the office locations, will be key to this new role. I am confident I can make a significant impact at both a strategic level, as well as attending to individual needs.”

Hayfield has recently invested over £22m in land, with around 400 plots currently under construction across the counties of Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire. The company also has a number of sites that are either newly acquired, or in solicitors’ hands, which are set to deliver a further 400 executive family homes in prime semi-rural and edge of town settings.

Hayfield became a five-star homebuilder in 2020 and retained the title this year, with 96.4% of its customers reporting they would recommend the company to a friend. Hayfield recently won Best Family Home at the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards, and Gold and Bronze accolades at last year’s WhatHouse? Awards.
