Hayfield responds to the Government’s Green Revolution pledge with a commitment to drive down carbon emissions

November 19, 2020

Hayfield will install Air Source Heat Pumps, underfloor heating, the smartest electric vehicle fast-charging points available, and ultra-fast broadband into all new and upcoming developments, as a direct response to the Government’s Green Revolution pledge. The UK’s Best Small Housebuilder is on track to deliver over 300 luxury homes across middle England during 2021.

Since Solihull-headquartered Hayfield was established in 2016, 35 per cent of its homes have been installed with Air Source Heat Pumps. The sustainable heating technology has been proven to cut carbon emissions by up to 45 per cent, while also delivering significant energy cost savings to residents. The efficiency savings and air quality can be enhanced when combining Heat Pumps with underfloor heating, so this will also be installed into the ground floor of all Hayfield homes.

Where electric vehicle charging has been installed at current Hayfield developments, it has encouraged occupiers to switch to electric vehicles, so this technology will also be rolled out across the board. Hayfield will be installing the new generation of fast-charging points which are compatible with all makes and models of electric vehicles.

Mark Booth, Managing Director of Hayfield said: “After four years of working with Air Source Heat Pump technology, we have made the decision as a group of Directors to respond to the Government’s Green Revolution pledge and install them into every new and upcoming development, alongside efficient clean-air underfloor heating. This represents a significant investment for us, however, we feel the UK’s housing market still has a long way to go before customers are willing to pay a little more for a new home that will deliver savings to energy costs and the earth’s resources in the long run.

“In addition to this, we are making the commitment to fit the smartest electric vehicle fast-charging points to each home, and work alongside our utility providers to install ultra-fast broadband. As 2020 has been much more about the drive to work from home, rather than the daily drive to the office, we are also trialling sound-proofed studies.

“The luxury end of the housing market has been slow to respond to the Green Revolution, but our four-pronged commitment puts us ahead of the competition and gives our future customers another reason to buy a Hayfield.”

Hayfield specialises in building luxury family houses and has eight live sites located in prime locations in Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire and Wiltshire where a total of 554 homes are currently under construction.

In 2019, Hayfield made history by becoming the first ever to be crowned Best Small Housebuilder in both the WhatHouse? and Housebuilder Awards. Hayfield also won Best House Under £750k at the 2019 Evening Standard New Homes Awards and Residential Developer of the Year at the 2019 Insider West Midlands Property Awards. The company has also scooped three NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.
